The reason this email is late is because I was convicted by the Spirit … the one who is in charge of my own transformation. I had not been getting the email done and out by 8:30 am and so was using some of my company time to get it done. That is in essence stealing time from my employer. So in a sense I was conforming to the world which says – oh it’s ok – its just a few minutes. However, I want holiness and so writing during my lunch break allows me to be obedient and allows the Spirit to continue His work … instead of being grieved by my disobedience.

So, let’s look at the other passage that uses the word “transformation” in the Philippians 3:17-21 …

“Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. 18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 *who will transform our lowly body* to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”

The Spirit will do the work of transforming us into godly men as we walk in the Spirit and work at renewing our minds. Some do well at this … most of us have not. I thank God that it is not just those who excel that will experience complete transformation. Not just those with straight A’s and 1600 on their college boards get in. In fact God loves to do this …

“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world …”

And those are the ones He loves to transform and in the end will completely finish the work. Therefore, we should join with Him everyday and allow Him to do His work in us.
