Everyone wonders who is going to be elected today. Romney or Obama … Brown or Mandel. Perhaps by sometime early tomorrow morning we will know the results. I can tell you one thing … regardless of who gets the most votes I can tell you who is elected.
The answer is … if you are a believer in Jesus Christ … Your Are Elected!!!
God went into the voting booth and pulled the lever for you. There were no hanging chads … no pooling the Godhead to see if the Father, Son and Spirit were all in agreement. They were and always are an they chose you before the creation of the world. See what it says in His word …
“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia… 1 Peter 1:1
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” Ephesians 1:4
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last.” John 15.16
Eleven times in the New Testament Christians are called “the elect”. The concept that God has chosen is also mentioned many times.
So guess what? You got elected! You are chosen. You are loved by God before the creation of the world and He wants to work in your life and transform you into a godly man who will live and act like Jesus. That is His purpose and that is His purpose for you.
Rejoice in that today … regardless if your candidate gets elected or not.
