I am fairly certain one of the things satan loves to use against us is DISCOURAGEMENT. There are things we have come to believe about ourselves that he loves to remind us about because they help to keep us down and isolated. Some of those thoughts are …
- You are worthless.
- You are a total failure.
- You will never be free from sexual brokenness.
- You have failed so much God is done with you.
Those thoughts are lies. You are not worthless you have such value that Jesus died for your sins to save you from the penalty of your sin and so that you could be made alive in Christ. You are not a total failure … there may be some things that we fail in but in those weaknesses we receive God’s strength.
You can be transformed and begin to experience freedom from sexual brokenness but it is going to take a lot of work to daily walk in the Spirit and create a support team to hold you accountable and pray daily for you.
You have not failed so much that God is done with you. That is impossible because God never gives up on anyone. His arms are always open wide for any prodigal who returns home. He has declared that He will never leave us or forsake us. Jesus is your Shepherd and He never loses one of His sheep.
The only way to counteract discouragement is with ENCOURAGEMENT. That is what Romans 12:2 is all about … being “ … transformed by the renewing of your mind.” I try to do some of that with these daily emails … but far more powerful are the Scriptures. Taking the time daily to read and meditate on the Word of God. It is alive and it is powerful.
That will be our focus this week. I want to teach you how to draw out of the Word of God the truths about Him and yourself that will create a foundation of truth on which you can stand … and send these lies of satan back to hell.
Let’s start by meditating on this truth today …
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Remind yourself about that about a thousand times today!
