Ending the Year Strong – blog

Based on the feedback I received on yesterday’s email I think it was helpful to a lot of people.  Thank you for responding.  I am going to spend next week focusing on why it is more difficult for some to stop this highly addictive behavior and think it will be a very helpful series.

However, this is the last email in September and I want to share with you how our month of fundraising has gone.  Our goal was to raise $5,000 in new donations with the idea that it will be matched by a foundation who has helped us in the past.

As of yesterday, we have raised $5,705!!!  I am so deeply grateful for your support and with the foundation’s gift, we will end the year very strong and financially healthy.

I am reminded of the time when Moses and the Israelites were in the desert and it was time for them to build the Tabernacle, so they would have a place to offer sacrifices to God and He would dwell in their camp.  As they were leaving Egypt they were given articles of gold, silver, and clothing by the Egyptians.

When Moses asked the people for gifts to build the tabernacle here is what we read in Exodus 35:21;

Everyone whose heart stirred him and everyone whose spirit moved him came and brought the Lord’s contribution for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service and for the holy garments.”

This went on and on until finally those in charge of building the Tabernacle told Moses they had enough. Then we read;

“So, Moses issued a command, and a proclamation was circulated throughout the camp, saying, “Let no man or woman any longer perform work for the contributions of the sanctuary.” Thus, the people were restrained from bringing any more.

One does not see that very often if at all today.  The offering plate gets through 75% of the congregation and someone says; “Looks like we have enough!”  You would never hear those words from the televangelist who is seeking to raise $54 million dollars to buy his next private jet.

What I am telling you is that with the donations we have received so far, 180 will be able to continue to grow and I will continue to work in it full-time through the end of the year.  For that, I am extremely thankful.

I am thankful for every one-time gift and I am especially thankful for those of you who are able to give monthly.  If you were able to give $15/month guess how much that would be in a year?  $180.00 – I don’t know but it seems like a good number to me!

So, thank you for your support both financially and in prayer.  I am looking forward to adding a few more Online Support Teams by the end of the year as well as starting more 180 Ministries in more churches.  We recently had 180 Ministries start in two more Columbus area churches this month.

I feel truly blessed to be called to help those who are sexually broken by this sin that so easily entangles and motivated to continue to follow the Lord as He leads me.
